It was our first stall. We were at the bustling Indiranagar club, and We showed up with just our soaps. We were extremely thrilled. We met new people. Spoke about skin care. Enjoyed talking about our products and our passion for herbs. Then, came along a customer who when having a conversation told me- "I do not use soap on my face. Do you have anything else for me?" I was delighted to hear that in our time bound urban life, there are people still wanting and taking the traditional path to beauty and no, we dint have soap-free cleanser then. That conversation stuck with me.
Ayurveda suggests usage of powdered grains and herbs to cleanse and exfoliate the skin on a daily basis. The herbs act as a mild scrub to remove the dirt, toxins, pollutant, and dead cells, but without stripping away the essential moisture in the skin. At the same time, they are balancing, nourishing, healing and totally free of toxic ingredients.
As you know , everything we do at Embar is taken directly from the ancient beauty rituals, we did exactly that and started researching about herbs and their properties to balance each skin type. Then, We set out to find the best freshest herbs. Once we gathered them, we pulverized it with a base of specific combination of grains and then added healing essential oils to the mix.
Here are our Cleansing grains for Oily to Normal, Dry to Normal and combination skin.
They come in flip top bottles so it will be protect the powder from stray water drops at the wash basin. Just flip the top, shake enough grains on your palm. Shut it and keep the rest of the luxurious cleansing grains safe.

For our skin care DIYers, here is a lil' recipe you can try out:
In a bowl, add
½ Cup Red lentils
½ Oats 2 Almonds
¼ tsp of Kasturi Turmeric (nope it wont burn or leave a yellow tint on your skin)
¼ tsp of cinnamon powder
½ spoon of lemon Peel Powder
2 sp of Rice powder
5 Drops of Lavender essential oil (Or any essential oil for your choice)
Mix the ingredients and store in an air tight jar. Take a coin size amount of your skin and add few drops of water. Make it in to a workable paste. Apply it you face and gentle massage in circular motions for few second, and wash off. In a weeks time you will notice you skin feels a lot fresher and smoother.
